My mother in-law suffered a mild stroke one Friday morning during a shopping spree in Los Angeles. My husband and father-in-law who were with her didn't bring her to the hospital right away, thinking she just need much rest. They've noticed her speech was slurry and incomprehensible and she had lost all energy. The following day we came to visit them and found that she had trouble reading her prayers the night before and felt some discomfort from her right leg. Immediately, we encouraged to bring her to the nearby hospital emergency room. After five hours of testing, they found that she had a small lesion on her brain and had some bleeding. They immediately rushed her into Intensive Care Unit and started to monitor her progress. The doctors confirmed she had a mild stroke the day before.
Oddly enough that very morning before we visited my in-laws, my husband and I picked-up Our Lady of Fatima to host a novena to her for a week or so.
That night we prayed for Our Lady to intercede to our Lord for healing. The next day, Sunday afternoon, we are told her bleeding was contained, although her fluctuating blood pressure needed to be stabilized. We were told it was good that we had brought her to the hospital in time and avoided further complications.
We continued our prayers and thankfully after two weeks, she had been released from the hospital and on her way to full recovery.
